The Golden Globe red carpet showed us tons of wonderful styles. From gorgeous dresses, lovely locks and winning makeup to what I can only call fabric disasters and bedhead.
While “this person’s hair” may have been a favorite and “that person’s dress” may have been to die for, as far as an overall look, the winner in my book was hands-down…
To begin with, the dress is wonderful. The rich purple and magenta complement her porcelain skintone and red hair nicely, while the flow of the fabric (with it’s somewhat Grecian goddess feel) helps give her a feminine, flirty shape. The cap sleeves have just the right amount of embellishment to make them chic yet not distracting. And the belt adds a bit of a ‘biker’ edge, which I’m kind of loving, with it’s leather band and Harley-esque buckle. It’s just enough of a focal point that we notice it yet it doesn’t distract so that we lose the rest of the ensemble. Add in the simplicity of the black clutch and strappy black pumps, and we have a winning outfit.
The simplicity of the hair being loosely pulled back is elegant and polished, and the softness of the look of the hair contrasts nicely with her bold eye makeup choice, with it’s sharp lines. The heavy black eyeliner help her blue eyes pop and the winged look kind of tie into the bird on the belt buckle.
Overall, Emma looks very lady-like yet bold, and I love it.
